Italian international Riccardo Orsolini, currently playing for Bologna, has reportedly turned down a substantial offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadsiah. The proposal, similar to one made to Fiorentina`s Moise Kean, would have seen Orsolini earn an impressive €10 million per season after taxes.
According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Al-Qadsiah was prepared to pay Bologna a transfer fee of €25 million for the 28-year-old forward. However, Orsolini appears committed to remaining with his current club and in Serie A.
Orsolini`s Preference for Bologna
The Italian striker is coming off an exceptional season, having scored 17 goals and provided 5 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for Bologna. With a contract running until June 2027, Orsolini seems content with his current situation.
Moreover, the recent appointment of Gennaro Gattuso as the new head coach of the Italian national team has rekindled Orsolini`s hopes of earning a recall to the Azzurri squad. This opportunity might be jeopardized by a move to the Saudi Pro League.
While Turkish club Fenerbahce has also shown interest in Orsolini, the player`s focus appears to be on continuing his development in Italy`s top flight. His decision to resist the temptation of a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia underscores his commitment to his current club and his ambitions within Italian football.
