Brazil Renews Pursuit of Ancelotti Following Argentina Setback

Following a devastating 4-1 loss to Argentina in World Cup qualifying, Brazil has reportedly rekindled its interest in appointing Carlo Ancelotti as the national team’s head coach. This move comes as the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) appears to be looking beyond their current manager, Dorival Junior.

According to GE Globo, the CBF has resumed communications with Ancelotti’s representatives, seeking to arrange a meeting with the Italian tactician. This isn’t the first time Brazil has approached Ancelotti, who has previously declined such offers.

Ancelotti’s Real Madrid Future in Question

Any potential decision regarding Ancelotti’s future will likely be delayed until after Real Madrid’s participation in the Club World Cup, scheduled for June and mid-July in the United States. This timeline means Brazil will have already played World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay before any potential change in leadership.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti’s position at Real Madrid remains precarious. Reports suggest he could face dismissal if the team fails to secure another Champions League title or falls short of Barcelona in La Liga. The former Milan, PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich manager has also been linked with a possible return to Serie A, with Roma mentioned as a potential destination.

As these developments unfold, Ancelotti was recently in Italy to receive a special award, further fueling speculation about his future plans.
