Brazilian Club Expresses Interest in Nottingham Forest Goalkeeper
According to recent reports, a Brazilian club has reached out to Nottingham Forest regarding the potential transfer of goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, whose future at the City Ground remains uncertain.
Miguel, who joined Forest from Corinthians last summer, has struggled for playing time this season, making only three appearances before suffering an injury in February. Now, Cruzeiro is exploring the possibility of bringing the 26-year-old back to Brazil.
Sources indicate that Cruzeiro made initial contact with Miguel’s representatives last week, though formal negotiations have not yet begun. The goalkeeper is reportedly open to the idea of returning to his home country.
Cruzeiro’s interest in Miguel predates his move to England. The club’s current manager, Leonardo Jardim, attempted to sign the keeper during his tenure at AS Monaco, suggesting long-standing admiration for the player’s abilities.
Prior to his Forest transfer, Miguel received high praise from Brazilian journalist Benjamin Back, who predicted future national team success for the goalkeeper. Back expressed disappointment at Corinthians’ decision to sell Miguel for just £3.4 million, describing him as a “monster” with immense potential.
While Nottingham Forest’s stance on a potential transfer remains unclear, Miguel’s limited opportunities in England may factor into any decision regarding his future at the club.
