Breel Embolo Opens Up About Special Connection with AS Monaco Teammate Mika Biereth
Since joining AS Monaco in January, 22-year-old Mika Biereth has formed a remarkable partnership with 28-year-old Breel Embolo. Their connection extends beyond the football field, as Embolo recently revealed in an interview.
Biereth has made an impressive start at the Principality club, scoring 12 goals in his first 12 Ligue 1 appearances. His swift adaptation has been greatly aided by his rapport with Embolo. The duo has already assisted each other twice this season, with Embolo’s ability to drop deep and link play proving instrumental in Biereth’s success.
Interestingly, Embolo’s own form has seen a notable improvement since Biereth’s arrival. Speaking before Monaco’s recent 3-0 victory against Olympique de Marseille, Embolo shared an anecdote that illustrates their off-field camaraderie.
“Recently, Mika called me at 5 PM because he wanted to purchase a scooter, as he doesn’t own a car yet. He asked if I could accompany him to Carrefour. I agreed, and my wife jokingly commented on how unusual it was for two grown men to go scooter shopping at that hour. I brought my son along, and off we went,” Embolo recounted, adding that Biereth is actually his neighbor in Monaco.
This close friendship has not only benefited their personal lives but has also translated into improved performances on the pitch, contributing to AS Monaco’s recent successes in Ligue 1.
