Buffon Shares Insights on Juventus and National Team
At the WEmbrace Awards, former Juventus captain and current head of delegation for the Italian National Team, Gianluigi Buffon, shared his thoughts with Sky Sport.
Regarding the Italian national team, Buffon emphasized the importance of respecting opponents like Norway, who recently won convincingly. He stressed the need to focus on certainties, such as the team and its coach, during challenging times.
Buffon praised new Juventus coach Igor Tudor, noting his ability to make an impact and transmit important ideologies. He expressed hope that Tudor would bring positive energy to the team and help them achieve results.
On Juventus’ current situation, Buffon believes the team has significant technical and moral qualities that have yet to be fully expressed. He hopes Tudor will create conditions for players to perform at their best.
Discussing Giorgio Chiellini’s potential role, Buffon highlighted his deep understanding of Juventus’ spirit. He suggested that Chiellini, like other club legends such as Del Piero and Marchisio, could help the team overcome difficulties. However, Buffon cautioned that being a great player doesn’t automatically translate to management skills.
Regarding his own future, Buffon expressed satisfaction with his current role in the national team, thanking FIGC President Gravina. He emphasized his goal of being happy and committed to causes he’s passionate about.
Lastly, Buffon shared his pride in his son’s decision to represent the Czech national team, explaining it was a carefully considered choice made in response to the federation’s early interest.
