Italian club Cagliari is on the verge of welcoming Turkish forward Semih Kilicsoy on a loan deal with an option to buy from Besiktas. The total value of the transfer could reach €14 million, according to reports.
While the fundamental terms of the agreement were established over a week ago, final details were reportedly ironed out today. The transfer was briefly delayed as Besiktas wanted Kilicsoy available for their Champions League preliminary round match against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The deal structure is expected to include a €1 million loan fee for one season, with an option to make the transfer permanent for €12 million plus €2 million in potential add-ons. Besiktas may also retain a 20% sell-on clause.
Rising Star Joins Serie A
Cagliari`s acquisition of Kilicsoy, who turns 20 next month, has caught many by surprise. The versatile attacker primarily plays as a center-forward but can also operate in wider positions. Despite his young age, Kilicsoy has already earned five caps for the Turkish national team.
This move represents a significant investment for Cagliari and demonstrates their ambition to strengthen their squad with young, promising talent. Kilicsoy`s arrival is eagerly anticipated by the club, who believe he has the potential to make a substantial impact in Serie A.
