According to recent reports, Napoli midfielder Jens Cajuste is on the verge of returning to Ipswich Town, with negotiations for an €8 million transfer in advanced stages. Despite more financially attractive offers from Saudi Arabian clubs, Cajuste appears to favor a move back to Portman Road.
The 25-year-old Swedish player, who will turn 26 soon, spent the previous season on loan at Ipswich Town, costing the club €1.5 million. The English side is now looking to make the move permanent, facing competition from Saudi Pro League teams offering substantial salaries.
Saudi clubs are reportedly proposing a €2.5 million loan fee with an €8 million option to buy. However, Cajuste seems inclined towards rejoining Ipswich Town, with a final decision expected within the next day.
Napoli acquired Cajuste from Stade Reims in August 2023 for €11.5 million, but his impact at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona has been minimal. During his time with Napoli, he made 35 appearances across all competitions, starting only 16 games and providing two assists.
While other clubs such as Besiktas, Crystal Palace, and Burnley have shown interest in Cajuste, the familiarity of Ipswich Town appears to be a significant factor in his decision-making process.
