Inter Milan`s rising star Valentin Carboni has opened up about his challenging journey back from a knee injury, revealing how praise from Lionel Messi helped fuel his recovery. The 20-year-old Argentine talent, who recently rejoined Inter after a loan spell at Marseille was cut short by injury, says he emerged from the setback feeling stronger both physically and mentally.
“The injury was devastating at first, but I`ve come to see it as a chance for growth,” Carboni explained. “It forced me to mature and improve in areas I needed to develop. Now I feel more complete as both a person and a player.”
Carboni`s perseverance paid off when he scored a crucial goal in Inter`s recent Club World Cup victory over Urawa Reds. He credits the support of teammates like captain Lautaro Martinez for helping him through the difficult rehabilitation process.
The young midfielder also reflected on the impact of receiving praise from Argentine legend Lionel Messi last year. “It was surreal at the time, but those words became a source of motivation during my recovery,” Carboni said. “I`d replay Messi`s compliments in my mind to stay focused on getting back to my best.”
Looking ahead, Carboni is eager to continue his development at Inter and dreams of representing Argentina again at the senior level. “I`m versatile enough to play as an attacking midfielder or in a box-to-box role,” he noted. “My goal is to keep improving and hopefully earn more opportunities with both Inter and the national team.”
With his injury behind him and confidence restored, Carboni appears poised to make a significant impact for the Nerazzurri in the coming seasons. His resilience and determination suggest a bright future lies ahead for the talented youngster.
