Champions League 2025 Draw: Playoff Matchups Revealed
The draw for the Champions League knockout stage playoffs has been completed following the conclusion of the group stage. This draw determined the matchups for the preliminary knockout round, which will decide the opponents for the teams already qualified for the Round of 16.
After the group stage, the top eight teams advanced directly to the Round of 16, while those finishing 9th through 24th will compete in a playoff round. Teams ranked 9th to 16th will face those ranked 17th to 24th, with the higher-ranked teams hosting the second leg. The eight playoff winners will advance to the Round of 16.
The playoff matchups are as follows:
- Club Brugge vs Atalanta
- Sporting CP vs Borussia Dortmund
- Manchester City vs Real Madrid
- Celtic vs Bayern Munich
- Feyenoord vs AC Milan
- Juventus vs PSV Eindhoven
- Stade Brestois vs Paris Saint-Germain
- AS Monaco vs Benfica
The playoff matches will take place in February 2025:
- First legs: February 11-12, 2025
- Second legs: February 18-19, 2025
Among Spanish clubs, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid qualified directly for the Round of 16 by finishing in the top 8. Real Madrid, finishing 11th, will face Manchester City in the playoffs, with the return leg at home. Girona has been eliminated from the competition.
The eight teams already qualified for the Round of 16 are Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Atlético Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, LOSC Lille, and Aston Villa. They await their opponents from the playoff round winners.
