Chelsea Explores Player-Plus-Cash Deal for Sevilla’s Loic Bade

Chelsea is reportedly considering a creative approach to sign Sevilla defender Loic Bade this summer. The Blues are reluctant to meet the player’s £50 million release clause and may instead offer a combination of cash plus either Trevoh Chalobah or Mykhailo Mudryk in exchange.

Uncertain Futures for Chalobah and Mudryk

Both Chalobah and Mudryk face uncertain prospects at Stamford Bridge. Chalobah was initially loaned to Crystal Palace but recalled mid-season due to Chelsea’s defensive needs. However, with the club targeting high-profile center-back signings this summer, his long-term role remains unclear.

Mudryk’s situation is complicated by a recent failed drug test, resulting in a provisional suspension. The Ukrainian winger has also been linked with a potential move to Sevilla.

Proposed Deal Structure

According to reports from Spain, Chelsea is only willing to pay around £25 million in cash for Bade. To bridge the gap to his £50 million release clause, the club is considering including either Chalobah or Mudryk in the deal.

Bade’s Impressive Form

The 24-year-old French defender has been a standout performer for Sevilla this season. He ranks second in the squad for average match rating and leads the team in clearances per 90 minutes. Bade has started 22 La Liga matches, establishing himself as a key figure in Sevilla’s backline.

While Aston Villa attempted to sign Bade in January for a similar £25 million fee, negotiations ultimately fell through. Chelsea will hope their player-plus-cash approach can convince Sevilla to part with their prized defender.
