Chelsea Optimistic About Signing Promising £20m Midfielder

Chelsea are on an impressive run in the Premier League, having won their last five matches. The team hasn’t lost a league game since October and looks to continue their winning streak against Everton this weekend.

However, summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall may not be part of Chelsea’s future plans. Reports suggest up to 10 clubs are interested in signing him in January. Maresca hasn’t ruled out a potential mid-season departure for the midfielder.

If Dewsbury-Hall does leave, Chelsea are reportedly pursuing a potential wonderkid replacement. According to sources, Chelsea and Manchester United are competing to sign Norwegian rising star Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg.

The 17-year-old midfielder has impressed in Norway’s top division, scoring 8 goals and providing 10 assists in 2024. Rosenborg value Nypan at around £20 million.

Chelsea are said to be “hopeful of securing a deal” for Nypan, who has drawn comparisons to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard. Norwegian football expert Jesper Mathisen praised Nypan’s potential, saying he gets “the same feeling as when I saw Martin Ødegaard break through as a boy.”

If Chelsea can complete the signing, Nypan could prove to be an exciting addition to their midfield for years to come.
