Chelsea Ready to Bid for World-Class Striker to Rival Jackson

Chelsea are looking to further strengthen their already potent attack by pursuing Victor Osimhen, one of the most prolific strikers in world football. The Blues have been in excellent form this season under manager Enzo Maresca, scoring 37 Premier League goals so far – second only to Tottenham.

According to reports, Chelsea are willing to trigger Osimhen’s £62 million release clause in January. The Nigerian striker is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, where he has scored an impressive 12 goals in 15 games across all competitions this season.

Osimhen would provide strong competition for current Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, who has performed well with 9 goals in 16 league games. The potential addition of Osimhen would give Maresca tactical flexibility and ensure Chelsea have consistent goal threats.

While £62 million is a significant investment, Osimhen’s goal-scoring record suggests he could be worth the outlay. At Napoli, he netted 76 goals in 133 appearances, including 31 goals in their title-winning 2022/23 campaign.
