Chelsea Target Verona’s Belahyane as Potential Casadei Replacement
Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for Hellas Verona’s 20-year-old midfielder Reda Belahyane this January transfer window. The Premier League club sees the young talent as a potential replacement for Cesare Casadei, who has been heavily linked with a move back to Italy.
According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea are aggressively pursuing a deal with Verona for Belahyane. The transfer fee is expected to be around €15 million.
Belahyane has made a significant impact in Serie A since his summer move from Nice for just €500,000. His performances have attracted interest from both Milan clubs as well.
The midfielder’s value has skyrocketed to over 30 times his initial transfer fee in less than a year. Chelsea view him as an ideal replacement for Casadei, who is reportedly being pursued by Lazio and Torino.
If the deal goes through, it would mark another significant investment by Chelsea in young talent as they continue to reshape their squad under new ownership.
