Chelsea’s £130k-per-week Player Targeted for Potential Loan Move
Chelsea are expected to see several players depart in the January transfer window, with midfielder João Félix potentially set for a loan move away from Stamford Bridge.
According to reports from Turkish media, former Chelsea manager José Mourinho has expressed interest in bringing Félix to Fenerbahçe on a temporary basis. The Portuguese attacking midfielder has struggled for consistent playing time this season, starting just two Premier League matches so far.
Félix joined Chelsea permanently in the summer for £45 million after a previous loan spell, but has failed to nail down a regular starting spot under manager Enzo Maresca. The 25-year-old has scored 5 goals in 16 appearances across all competitions, though many of those have come as a substitute or in cup matches.
Chelsea boss Maresca has stated he will not stand in the way of any players who wish to leave in January, saying: “If they want to leave, the best thing for everyone is that the players who aren’t happy are going to leave.” However, he hopes to keep key attackers like Christopher Nkunku at the club.
With Félix on £130,000 per week wages, a loan move could help Chelsea trim their wage bill while giving the player more regular first-team football. Mourinho’s interest suggests Fenerbahçe could be a potential destination, though other clubs may also enter the race for his signature.
As Chelsea prepare for a busy January window, Félix’s future will be one of several transfer sagas to monitor at Stamford Bridge. The coming weeks will reveal whether the Portuguese star remains part of Chelsea’s plans or secures a move elsewhere to revive his career.
