Chernyshov Shares Thoughts on Zakharyan’s Injuries
Andrey Chernyshov, a former Dynamo Moscow player, has expressed his views on the injury of Russian midfielder Arsen Zakharyan, who currently plays for Real Sociedad. Zakharyan is expected to miss the first half of the 2024/25 season due to his injury.
“I don’t agree with those who say Zakharyan’s move abroad was a mistake. The player took the next step in his career development by moving to a stronger league. It’s incorrect to claim that Zakharyan has wasted a year and a half in Spain. Injuries could have happened at Dynamo as well. In that case, people would have said he should have left. I’m confident that, given time, Arsen will start playing, and these discussions will fade away,” Chernyshov stated.
The 21-year-old midfielder missed the first half of the current season due to an ankle tendon injury sustained in July. On January 21, Real Sociedad’s press service announced that Zakharyan would not participate in the 7th round match of the Europa League general stage against Lazio.
