Clément Turpin will be the referee for this Sunday’s high-profile match between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille at the Parc des Princes.
The experienced 42-year-old referee has already taken charge of 30 games this season. This will be his eighth time officiating the Classique, with PSG having won six of the previous encounters and Marseille securing one draw.
Marseille will be aiming to demonstrate their improvement since their 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the season at the Vélodrome. However, PSG will be focused on their upcoming Champions League match against Liverpool before turning their attention to their rivals this weekend.
Recently, Olympique Marseille has not had major concerns with referees like Stéphanie Frappart and Thomas Léonard. This is in contrast to the controversy involving Jérémy Stinat, whose decision to send off Derek Cornelius led to strong criticism from Marseille president Pablo Longoria, who was later suspended for 15 matches after alleging corruption among Ligue 1 referees.
