Italian Serie A club Como have announced the permanent signing of defender Alex Valle from Barcelona following his loan spell in the second half of the 2024-25 season.
The 21-year-old left-back joined Como on loan in January, cutting short a season-long loan at Celtic. Como have now exercised their €6 million option to make the move permanent.
Valle has signed a four-year contract with Como, who finished in the top half of Serie A last season after gaining promotion. The Spanish defender expressed his happiness at securing a long-term future with the club:
“I`ve settled in really well over the past six months and I`m delighted to be staying at Como permanently. I`m excited to continue developing here and give my all for the team next season.”
Como manager Cesc Fabregas praised Valle`s impact since joining on loan:
“Alex has proven himself to be a very talented young defender. He integrated seamlessly into our team and showed his defensive and offensive qualities. Como have secured one of the most promising talents of his age group.”
Valle came through Barcelona`s La Masia academy after joining in 2014. He made his Barcelona B debut in 2022 before loan spells at Andorra, Levante and Celtic. The permanent move to Como marks the next step in the promising left-back`s career as he looks to establish himself in Serie A.
