Como FC has announced that their star player Assane Diao will be unavailable for an additional five weeks due to a new injury. The club stated that Diao will undergo conservative treatment for his condition.
The 19-year-old winger has already missed the last five matches of the 2024-25 season because of a foot problem. This latest setback is a significant blow to Como`s performance on the field.
Como`s Official Statement on Diao`s Injury
The club released the following statement regarding Diao`s condition:
“Como 1907 reports that footballer Assane Diao suffered an injury during a training session. Medical examinations revealed a fissure in the fifth metatarsal bone of his right foot. After consulting with Professor Neik Van Dijk, a foot surgery specialist, it was decided to proceed with conservative treatment. The recovery period will depend on the injury`s progress but is estimated to be around five weeks.”
Diao joined Como in January 2025 and quickly became a key player, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in just 15 Serie A appearances. His absence will undoubtedly be felt by the team as they navigate the remainder of the season.
The club and fans alike will be eagerly awaiting Diao`s return to full fitness, hoping he can replicate his impressive form once he`s back on the pitch.
