Como Football Club has issued an official statement following the Italian Football Federation`s (FIGC) rejection of their appeal against suspensions imposed on player Jesus Rodriguez and coach Cesc Fabregas.
The club had challenged the Serie A bans that were handed down after the 1-1 draw with Cremonese on September 27. However, the Disciplinary Commission dismissed the appeal today, finalizing the decision.
Como Accepts Appeal Outcome
The club`s statement read: “Como acknowledges the FIGC`s decision to uphold the suspensions of Jesús Rodríguez and Cesc Fàbregas. We respect the process and accept the outcome. We appreciate the Federation`s consideration of our appeal and remain committed to upholding the league`s rules and values. Our focus now shifts to upcoming matches, approaching them with professionalism, unity, and respect for the competition.”
Jesus Rodriguez received a three-match ban, while coach Fabregas was suspended for two matches and fined. The forward was sent off in the 82nd minute of the Cremonese match for an off-ball incident involving Filippo Terracciano, where he tripped and attempted to strike the Cremonese player.
Rodriguez has already served one match of his suspension against Atalanta and will now miss crucial fixtures against Juventus and Parma. Consequently, Fabregas will be absent from the sidelines for the important clash with Juventus next weekend.
