Como’s Midfield Revolution: The Caqueret Effect
Como Football Club has made a significant move in the January transfer window by securing the services of Maxence Caqueret from Lyon. This acquisition marks a crucial step in the team’s bid for survival in the league and represents the most expensive purchase in Como’s history.
Caqueret, a left-footed playmaker born in 2000, is expected to become a pivotal figure in Como’s midfield. His versatility allows him to operate as a central midfielder in a three-man setup, alongside players like Enghelardt, Da Cunha, Sergi Roberto, or Braunhoder. Alternatively, he can form part of a double pivot in a 4-2-3-1 formation, paired with a more dynamic midfielder.
Upon joining Como, Caqueret expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m thrilled to be part of this ambitious project. The club has everything needed to progress, and I’m excited to start this new adventure. Conversations with coach Fabregas, his explanation of the club’s vision, and his illustrious career as a midfielder were key factors in my decision.”
Cesc Fabregas, Como’s manager, played a crucial role in bringing Caqueret to the club. He commented on the new signing: “Maxence is a versatile player capable of dictating the game’s tempo. His experience at the highest levels of European football will significantly strengthen our squad’s core. We’re delighted to have him with us.”
With Caqueret’s arrival, Como gains a player with international experience, including 15 European matches under his belt. His addition to the squad is expected to bring a new dimension to Como’s midfield, potentially reshaping their playing style and bolstering their chances of achieving their season objectives.
