The 2026 World Cup will see CONCACAF take centre stage, because the event will probably be held in Mexico, Canada and the United States.
Consequently, FIFA have needed to think about what number of qualification locations the confederation will get, with as many as eight individuals coming from the area.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino confirmed that CONCACAF could have six direct slots, with three of these going on to the organising nations.
The opposite three will probably be contested by the opposite nations in qualifiers. With the three giants of the area out of the image, some groups with little or no World Cup expertise will be capable of dream massive.
Along with these six locations, two extra spots may even be up for grabs by way of the playoffs. Which means CONCACAF might have twice as many locations because it did in earlier World Cups.
This improve in groups can also be because of the growth of the World Cup, which can go from 32 to 46 groups by 2026. Consequently, varied confederations will see a rise in spots.
