Conceicao: “I Take Responsibility for Milan’s Errors” After 2-2 Draw
AC Milan coach Sergio Conceicao acknowledged the team’s recurring issues following their 2-2 draw with Fiorentina in Serie A. The Rossoneri once again found themselves trailing early, conceding two goals within the first 10 minutes.
“There were individual errors, not just in defense,” Conceicao admitted. “The team made unforced mistakes, and we’re trying to improve certain behaviors. We’re aware of the problem and working on it.”
Conceicao made a bold decision to substitute Yunus Musah after just 24 minutes, bringing on Luka Jovic who eventually scored the equalizer. The coach explained, “I realized the game wasn’t going well for Musah. He’s a quality player, but sometimes you have games like that.”
Milan has struggled with slow starts recently, conceding four goals in the opening 15 minutes of their last four Serie A matches. Conceicao took responsibility, stating, “The approach for the first 25 minutes was very poor. As the coach, I am ultimately responsible.”
Despite the comeback, the result leaves Milan in ninth place, potentially falling further behind in the race for European qualification. The upcoming Coppa Italia semi-final against Inter Milan could be crucial for their Europa League hopes.
When asked about his future at the club, Conceicao responded with laughter, saying, “I’m really disappointed today and feel sad, but that question did make me laugh. Thank you for that.”
