Francisco Empis, the spokesman for Sergio Conceiçao, has stepped down, acknowledging that information disseminated to the Italian media contained “errors and inaccuracies” and negatively impacted the reputation of the Milan coach.
Empis had informed Italian media outlets on Thursday that Conceiçao was dissatisfied with the attitude of the players and the club’s management. This prompted the Portuguese coach to meet with Milan’s leadership to address the situation and clarify his stance with a brief public statement.
During a press conference on Friday, Conceiçao stated that Empis had acted out of malice and announced his intention to pursue legal action against his former spokesman.

Empis confirmed his resignation to Gazzetta dello Sport, stating, “None of the points have been validated by coach Sergio Conceiçao, nor are they binding on him as a professional.”
“Due to the mistake made and the damage caused to his reputation, I immediately resign from my position with the coach.”
“The published information contains several errors and inaccuracies, particularly regarding the relationships between team members, the coaching staff, and Milan’s management,” he added.
“They do not reflect the truth of the facts but rather rumors and assumptions without any factual basis.”
Conceiçao is facing increasing pressure at Milan, having suffered defeats in their last three Serie A matches.
The Rossoneri are currently positioned outside of the European qualification spots in Serie A and are 11 points adrift of fourth-place Juventus.
The Diavoli are scheduled to play against Lecce in their upcoming Serie A game at the Stadio Via del Mare on Saturday.
