Antonio Conte has revealed his decision to remain at Napoli stems from a shared vision with the club for its future. Meanwhile, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has committed to supporting the coach`s ambitions fully.
The situation has evolved dramatically over the past two days. Earlier in the week, numerous sources anticipated a parting of ways between Conte and Napoli. However, the recent Scudetto celebrations appear to have sparked a change of heart in Conte, prompting him to continue his tenure at the Stadio Maradona.
Conte Elaborates on Napoli Decision
“At the conclusion of each season, it`s crucial for the coach and club to evaluate the year`s performance and ensure alignment on future goals,” Conte explained to Sky Sport Italia. “We`ve found we share the same vision, as we`re both committed professionals. We`ve discussed the season`s highs and lows, and the Scudetto celebration was truly extraordinary.”
Conte added, “There`s a strong desire to continue building a solid foundation for Napoli, working together to bring pride to the Neapolitan people.”
De Laurentiis Pledges Full Support
De Laurentiis echoed Conte`s enthusiasm, telling Sky Sport Italia, “We face an important season ahead, with the Coppa Italia, the new Champions League format, the Supercoppa, and our Scudetto title to defend. Conte is a proven winner, and I`m prepared to support him in whatever he needs to enhance Napoli`s strength and achieve optimal results.”
Prior to this development, speculation had linked Conte with a move to Juventus, while Max Allegri was rumored to be in line for the Napoli position. However, in a surprising turn of events, Allegri has now signed a two-year contract with an option for a third year to become Milan`s new coach.
