Corentin Tolisso of Lyon has stated his goal is to rejoin the French national team soon. In an interview with L’Équipe, the 30-year-old midfielder expressed hope that national team coach Didier Deschamps is noticing his improved performances for Lyon this season.
Tolisso, a World Cup winner with France in 2018, is experienced in representing his country at the highest level. Since his debut for Les Bleus in 2017 against Spain, the Lyon youth product has earned 28 caps. However, his last appearance for France under Deschamps was at UEFA EURO 2020 in 2021.
Upon his return to Lyon, Tolisso initially struggled to regain the form that previously made him a regular in the French squad and secured him a transfer to Bayern Munich. Nevertheless, the international player has rediscovered his best form this season and has become crucial to Lyon’s successes.
Discussing his future objectives with Lyon and the national team, Tolisso commented, “Returning to the France squad is a clear objective. Having won the World Cup and the Champions League, what more could you want? … I am driven to win trophies and titles again, I want to experience that feeling once more.”
