Crystal Palace is closely monitoring a young forward who has drawn comparisons to Antoine Griezmann of Atletico Madrid.
Summer Transfer Plans for Palace
With the Premier League season nearing its end, Crystal Palace is aiming for a mid-table finish. However, under Oliver Glasner, there’s ambition to push for European spots next season. This means the club may look to strengthen their squad during the summer transfer window.
While a midfielder might be on the radar due to Will Hughes’ contract situation, the Eagles are also reportedly considering a move for 20-year-old Royal Antwerp midfielder Mahamadou Doumbia.
It seems Crystal Palace is focusing on bringing in young talent this summer. They are also surprisingly in the running to sign Wolfsburg defender Konstantinos Koulierakis, who could cost around £42m.
In addition to defenders and midfielders, Palace is reportedly keeping tabs on 18-year-old FC Nordsjaelland forward Sindre Walle Egeli.
This young player is gaining significant attention across Europe after impressive performances in Denmark. Clubs like Newcastle United, Atalanta, Liverpool, and Everton are also showing interest.
Crystal Palace is among several Premier League teams that have scouted the youngster this season. Reports suggest Nordsjaelland might demand at least £21m for him.
Egeli: An “Absolute Star” Compared to Griezmann
Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has praised the young Norwegian, calling him an “absolute star” from a young age and comparing his playing style to that of Atletico Madrid’s Griezmann.
Despite being only 18, Egeli has become a key player for Nordsjaelland. He has scored six goals and provided four assists in the Superliga this season, including a recent header against Vejle BK.
Crystal Palace has a history of successfully recruiting young talents, as seen with Adam Wharton’s rapid integration into the team. There are indications that Sindre Walle Egeli could follow a similar path.
