Del Piero and Di Canio Comment on Vlahovic’s Situation at Juventus
Former Italian football stars Alessandro Del Piero and Paolo Di Canio have weighed in on Dusan Vlahovic’s current situation at Juventus. The Serbian striker has found himself with limited playing time recently, sparking discussion among football pundits.
Del Piero, a Juventus legend, expressed concern about Vlahovic’s diminishing role: “While it’s important to give Kolo Muani opportunities as a new signing, Vlahovic previously held immense value for the team. Now, he seems to be fading into the background. At Juventus, everything is magnified, except perhaps scoring, which is considered a basic duty.”
The former Juventus captain added, “Any situation that arises receives significant attention, and based on the numbers and performances, it appears the Serbian player is on a downward trajectory. We hope for improvement. He needs to make an impact now.”
Di Canio, another respected ex-player, defended Vlahovic: “He’s struggling, but it’s not Vlahovic’s fault. He’s only getting a few minutes of play time in most matches. His pride must come through, but the current approach isn’t helping. Coach Thiago Motta is backing up his words with actions, as seen in the recent Como match where everyone except Vlahovic was substituted in when they needed a goal.”
Despite his reduced role, Vlahovic remains Juventus’ top scorer this season with 13 goals across all competitions. The situation continues to evolve as Juventus navigates its Champions League campaign and domestic competitions.
