Dimarco Poised to Start for Inter Against Bayern Munich in Crucial Champions League Match
Federico Dimarco has fully recovered and is likely to feature in Inter Milan’s starting lineup for their upcoming Champions League quarter-final match against Bayern Munich. The crucial second leg is scheduled for Wednesday evening at San Siro.
Inter holds a slight advantage after securing a 2-1 victory in the first leg at the Allianz Arena. However, there will be some changes to the team composition for this encounter.
While Piotr Zielinski and Denzel Dumfries remain sidelined due to their absence from today’s training session, Dimarco has regained full fitness. The Italian international is expected to occupy the left flank, replacing Carlos Augusto who filled that position in Munich.
Simone Inzaghi, Inter’s manager, is likely to maintain most of the starting eleven from the first leg. The defensive line is set to include Benjamin Pavard, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni. Despite Nicola Zalewski’s availability, Matteo Darmian is predicted to retain his place as the right wing-back.
Bayern Munich continues to face injury concerns. While Manuel Neuer has traveled with the squad, he won’t be available for selection. Kingsley Coman and Aleksandar Pavlovic have returned, but Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito, Neuer, and Dayot Upamecano are still out of action.
Bayern’s coach Vincent Kompany might make some adjustments to his lineup. One potential change could be the inclusion of Thomas Muller, who scored in the first leg, in the starting eleven instead of Raphael Guerreiro.
Predicted Lineups
Inter Milan: Sommer; Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Lautaro Martinez, Thuram
