Roma`s sporting director Frederic Massara has provided an update on Paulo Dybala`s injury recovery and contract situation before the team`s Europa League match against Lille.
“Dybala is making good progress in his recovery. We`re hopeful he might be available as soon as Sunday,” Massara told Sky Sport. “We`ll have more information tomorrow.”
The Argentine star has been sidelined with a hamstring injury but could make his comeback in the coming days. However, Massara clarified that no discussions have begun regarding Dybala`s expiring contract.
Massara Addresses Dybala`s Contract Situation
“Paulo isn`t the only player whose contract is ending, but we haven`t started addressing renewals yet. We`ll examine that further down the line.”
Roma is juggling several important off-field decisions while trying to maintain competitiveness on the pitch. Dybala`s availability is a crucial factor in the short term, but his long-term future remains undecided.
Nevertheless, given Dybala`s key role in the Roma squad, there seems to be no obvious reason why the club wouldn`t extend his current deal, provided he can maintain his fitness.
Meanwhile, Roma is preparing to face a strong Lille side in their Europa League fixture.
