Espanyol’s coach, Manolo González, has announced the squad list for the upcoming LaLiga EA Sports matchday 27 game against Girona.
The squad includes the following players:
Goalkeepers:
- Joan García
- Ángel Fortuño
- Pol Tristán
Defenders:
- Sergi Gómez
- Kumbulla
- Calero
- Cabrera
- Tejero
- Brian Oliván
- Carlos Romero
- Omar El Hilali
- Roger Hinojo
Midfielders:
- Edu Expósito
- Pol Lozano
- Aguado
- Urko
- Král
- Antoniu Roca
Forwards:
- Puado
- Veliz
- Pere Milla
- Cheddira
- Jofre
- Roberto Fernández
A notable change from the list on the 15th is the inclusion of Roger Hinojo. He makes his first appearance in the first team squad after returning to play two games ago with Espanyol B, against Peña Deportiva. The left-back had been sidelined for four months due to a fracture in his fifth metatarsal.
Espanyol aims to secure three points in this match to increase their lead over the relegation zone. Despite having more preparation time than Girona due to the postponement of their previous game against Villarreal (a decision that caused controversy), Espanyol faces uncertainty due to their lack of recent match play.
Girona is in desperate need to break their negative run of results. After slipping from European qualification aspirations to looking over their shoulder at the bottom of the table, still without guaranteed safety, Girona will be looking to capitalize on any weaknesses in Espanyol’s game to get back to winning ways after four games without a victory (three losses and one draw against Celta last match).
