Jose Antonio Espina, a journalist for the Spanish sports newspaper Diario AS, shared his thoughts on the future of Guillermo Abascal, former coach of Spartak Moscow and Granada.
“Will Abascal return to work in Spain this winter? I don’t know, I personally haven’t heard of Spanish clubs’ interest in Abascal right now. I do not rule out that he may appear, but not now, but in the summer. Abascal’s unsuccessful experience in Segunda does not mean that he will not be given another chance,” Espina said.
In June 2024, Abascal took charge of Granada from Segunda, but was dismissed almost three months after his appointment. Under the 35-year-old Spaniard’s leadership, Granada played 6 matches in Segunda and gained 6 points.
Abascal coached Spartak Moscow from June 2022 to April 2024.
