Kylian Mbappé has shared that he feels a sense of relief seeing his younger brother, Ethan Mbappé, happy and developing well at Lille OSC.
Both brothers departed Paris Saint-Germain this past summer when their contracts ended, but they chose different paths. Kylian made a high-profile transfer to Real Madrid, a move long anticipated. Ethan, however, decided to continue his career in France by joining Lille.
Lille has a strong reputation for nurturing young players and providing them with opportunities to progress. This environment seems to be benefiting Ethan greatly. He has been included in the first team squad this season and recently made his first Champions League start against Borussia Dortmund.
In an interview with Clique.tv, Kylian Mbappé expressed his satisfaction with his brother’s situation: “It took a weight off my shoulders when I saw that he was happy in Lille, that he had a real project at a real club. He’s found good people and a very good club.” Kylian had previously mentioned that he might have stayed at PSG if it would have been beneficial for Ethan’s career.
He further commented, “It’s a big club but at the same time they’re a family club, where they will take care of him. They’ve taken Ethan, not Kylian’s brother. He can write his own story there and that makes me happy.”
