Everton is among several clubs vying for the signature of a highly-rated Premier League midfielder at the end of the current season, according to new transfer speculation.
Moyes Aiming for Multiple Everton Acquisitions
The Toffees are continuously being linked with potential new players as the summer transfer window approaches. West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek has emerged as a possible priority signing for manager David Moyes.
Moyes previously coached the 30-year-old Soucek during their time together at West Ham. Right-back Vladimir Coufal is also considered as a possible reinforcement for Everton’s squad.
Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez, a promising young talent, is also reportedly on Everton’s radar for a potential summer move, especially if Jarrad Branthwaite departs. Despite a recent own goal against Manchester City, Ordonez is considered a player with significant potential.
In addition, Moyes is reportedly looking at young players from the Championship who he believes he can develop into top talents at Everton. While no specific names have been mentioned recently, West Brom’s Tom Fellows, a previous target, could be reconsidered.
Everton Expressing Interest in ‘Ridiculous’ Spurs Player
Recent reports suggest that Everton are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma during the summer transfer window.
However, Everton are not alone in their pursuit of the 28-year-old, with Aston Villa and Crystal Palace also mentioned as interested parties. Clubs from Europe are also monitoring Bissouma and could tempt Tottenham with offers potentially reaching £24.7 million. Tottenham are reportedly open to selling Bissouma and are considering replacing him with Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.
Bissouma, who earns £55,000 per week, could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Everton if they can finalize a deal this summer. The Tottenham player brings both quality and experience to the midfield.
James Maddison has praised his teammate Bissouma, stating:
‘We all know Yves’ [Bissouma] ability, he is a ridiculous player at times. He has got a skill not many have. The gaffer is a great man with good morals. He [Yves] has to keep working hard. The performance was there on Monday. It was a case of not putting our chances away. It’s important you try and put into practice what the manager wants. It’s about us trusting him.’
Yves Bissouma’s Premier League stats this season | Total |
---|---|
Appearances | 20 |
Starts | 12 |
Minutes played | 1055 |
Goals | 2 |
Assists | 0 |
Tackles per game | 1.9 |

It remains to be seen whether Bissouma views Everton as a step down in his career. However, the gap between the two clubs in the Premier League is not significant, and Everton appears to be on an upward trend under David Moyes.
