Everton Weighing Up Move for £40m Richarlison as Calvert-Lewin Replacement

Following a positive run of results under David Moyes, Everton are looking to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window. Moyes is aware of the work needed to continue improving the team.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s Everton Future in Doubt

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been absent due to injury since David Moyes returned to Everton. With only three months left on his contract, the England striker’s future at the club is uncertain.

Calvert-Lewin, a high earner at Everton with a £100,000 weekly wage, has scored three goals in 22 appearances this season. While he provides a focal point in attack, it might be time for Everton and the player to part ways.

Beto replaces Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Calvert-Lewin has reportedly rejected several contract extension offers from Everton over the past year. Beto has stepped up in his absence, scoring five goals in his last five Premier League games.

With Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti also struggling for game time and fitness, Everton are short of attacking options. Addressing the striker position will be a priority in the summer transfer window.

Everton’s Strikers in 2024/25
Beto 6 goals in 19 appearances
Dominic Calvert-Lewin 3 goals in 22 appearances
Youssef Chermiti N/A
Armando Broja No goals in 6 appearances

Calvert-Lewin’s high wages could lead to his departure. However, replacing his attacking presence will be a challenge, considering he is not far behind Romelu Lukaku’s Premier League goal tally for Everton.

Looking ahead, Everton are considering making an enquiry for a popular figure among the Goodison Park faithful.

Everton Interested in Tottenham’s Richarlison

Everton are reportedly planning to enquire about re-signing Richarlison in the summer. Tottenham Hotspur are expected to demand £40 million for the Brazilian international.

Spurs, who signed Richarlison for £60 million in 2022, are willing to accept a loss as he enters the final two years of his contract. The Friedkin Group, Everton’s ownership, are preparing to make an approach.

Moyes is eager to explore the possibility of a deal for Richarlison early in the summer window. If a move for Richarlison is not feasible, Everton will quickly pursue alternative targets.

Richarlison has had a limited role at Tottenham this season, scoring three goals in 14 appearances. Injuries have hampered the 27-year-old’s impact under Ange Postecoglou, although he has scored a Premier League goal every 143 minutes this season.

Richarlison’s affection for Everton is well-known. It remains to be seen if Moyes will receive the financial support to make a significant signing like Richarlison as the club prepares to move into their new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock.
