FC Nantes Secures Loan Deal for Strasbourg Defender Saïdou Sow
FC Nantes has successfully secured the services of RC Strasbourg’s centre-back Saïdou Sow on a temporary basis until the conclusion of the current season. Both clubs have confirmed the loan agreement for the 22-year-old Guinean international defender, which does not include an option for a permanent transfer.
The move comes as Nantes sought to reinforce their defensive line following a significant injury to Nathan Zézé, who is expected to be sidelined until March. Sow, who has made 13 appearances across all competitions for Strasbourg this season, participating in 61% of available playing time, will provide much-needed depth to the Nantes squad.
Having joined Strasbourg from Saint-Etienne 18 months ago, Sow brings valuable experience to his new club. He is set to partner with Nantes veteran Nicolas Pallois in the heart of defense under manager Antoine Kombouaré’s tactical setup. The young defender has been assigned the number 24 jersey for his stint with Les Canaris.
Sow’s arrival marks Nantes’ second acquisition during the winter transfer window, following the signing of goalkeeper Anthony Lopes from Lyon. The team is preparing for their upcoming match against Lyon, managed by Pierre Sage, which will take place this Sunday at their home ground.
