Fenerbahce and Chelsea Set Sights on Napoli Midfielder Anguissa
According to Turkish media outlet Fanatik, Fenerbahce, under the leadership of Jose Mourinho, is preparing to challenge Chelsea for the acquisition of Napoli’s midfield dynamo Frank Anguissa in the upcoming transfer window.
The 29-year-old Cameroonian international has caught the attention of several top European clubs with his impressive performances. Mourinho’s Fenerbahce is the latest team to express interest in securing Anguissa’s services.
While Anguissa’s current contract with Napoli is set to expire in June, the Italian club retains an option to extend it until 2027. However, negotiations for a new deal have yet to yield results, potentially opening the door for interested parties to make their move during the summer transfer window of 2025.
Earlier reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport suggested that Chelsea was closely monitoring Anguissa’s situation. Now, it appears the London club will face stiff competition from Fenerbahce, with Mourinho being a long-time admirer of the former Fulham midfielder.
Anguissa has been in exceptional form this season, contributing six goals and four assists in 32 appearances across all competitions for Napoli in the 2024-25 campaign. His stellar performances have only increased his appeal to potential suitors.
As the transfer saga unfolds, it remains to be seen whether Napoli will be able to retain their prized asset or if Anguissa will be tempted by a new challenge at either Fenerbahce or Chelsea.
