Fiorentina Star Kean Misses Cagliari Clash for Family Reasons
Moise Kean, Fiorentina’s leading goalscorer, was notably absent from the team’s 2-1 victory over Cagliari on Wednesday. The club announced prior to the match that Kean would be unavailable due to family matters.
Daniele Pradé, Fiorentina’s director, commented after the game: “We need to support him at this time, and we hope he returns with the same enthusiasm he had before. Those who stepped in for him performed well, and I’m particularly pleased with Beltran’s goal, which was much needed.”
Despite Kean’s absence, Fiorentina secured an away win with goals from Robin Gosens and Beltran, overcoming an early lead by Cagliari’s Roberto Piccoli.
The victory propelled Fiorentina to 8th place in the Serie A standings, positioning them just four points shy of a Champions League spot with five matches remaining in the season.
It remains uncertain whether Kean will be available for Fiorentina’s upcoming Serie A fixture against Empoli at the Stadio Franchi in Florence.
In addition to their league campaign, Fiorentina has also progressed to the Conference League semifinals. They are set to face Real Betis in Sevilla for the first leg on May 1st.
