Former Liverpool Goalkeeper Karius Joins Schalke

Schalke has officially announced the acquisition of German goalkeeper Loris Karius. The 31-year-old shot-stopper has committed to the second-tier Bundesliga club, signing a contract that will keep him with the team until the end of the current season.

Karius’s most recent stint was with Newcastle United, which he departed in the summer of 2022. During his time with the Magpies, the German keeper made two appearances, conceding six goals. His career has seen him don the colors of several notable clubs, including Mainz, Liverpool, Besiktas, and Union Berlin.

This move to Schalke marks a new chapter in Karius’s professional journey, as he joins a club aiming to climb back into the top flight of German football. His experience at various levels of competition could prove valuable to Schalke’s ambitions for the remainder of the season.
