Former Russian National Team Player Comments on Zakharyan’s Situation at Real Sociedad
Maxim Bokov, a former CSKA Moscow player, has shared his thoughts on Russian midfielder Arsen Zakharyan’s performance at Spanish club Real Sociedad. The 21-year-old player has yet to make an appearance for the team this season due to injuries.
Bokov stated, “While I don’t intend to criticize anyone, there are sometimes dry spells in a player’s career. Every footballer experiences periods of decline, misunderstanding, or possibly even friction with the head coach. Zakharyan’s performance will improve as he adapts to his new environment.”
Zakharyan joined Real Sociedad in the summer of 2023. Since then, he has participated in 35 matches across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing two assists for the team.
Bokov believes that Zakharyan’s current situation is likely temporary and part of the adaptation process to a new team and league. He suggests that once the young player overcomes these initial challenges, his performance is likely to improve significantly.
