Guglielmo Vicario, Tottenham`s rising star goalkeeper, began his football journey in the modest clubs of Udine province. His talent and determination were evident from the start, according to Vincenzo Pisacane, president of Ancona Lumignacco, one of Vicario`s first clubs.
“Vicario always had ambition,” Pisacane recalled. “He wasn`t just passing through – he was a young goalkeeper determined to become a professional.” This drive propelled Vicario through various clubs, including Udinese and Venezia, before his breakthrough at Tottenham.
Pisacane believes Tottenham`s recent Europa League victory is just the beginning for Vicario. “Congratulations to Vicario and Tottenham for bringing a trophy back after nearly 20 years, competing toe-to-toe with Manchester United,” he said.
The club president didn`t hesitate to rank Vicario among the world`s top goalkeepers. “If we`re talking about Italian goalkeepers, he`s in the top three. Vicario is on par with PSG`s Donnarumma and Atalanta`s Carnesecchi,” Pisacane asserted.
As Vicario continues to impress on the international stage, his journey from a small Italian club to Premier League stardom serves as an inspiration to young players at Ancona Lumignacco and beyond.
