Representatives from Galatasaray have concluded a meeting in Italy to negotiate the transfer of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Turkish club has agreed to activate the €75 million release clause in Osimhen`s contract, which is valid for non-Italian clubs until mid-July.
Galatasaray`s vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu and intermediary George Gardi met with Napoli officials to discuss the specifics of the deal. Following the meeting, Gardi commented, “We`re making progress. There`s clearly interest from both sides. We`ll see how things develop.”
Osimhen spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Galatasaray after a permanent move from Napoli fell through in the summer of 2024. The Nigerian international impressed during his time in Istanbul, scoring 37 goals and providing 8 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
According to reports, Galatasaray has proposed paying the €75 million release clause in five installments. Napoli is expected to request official guarantees, such as surety bonds, to ensure full payment is received.
The Turkish club`s desire to retain Osimhen on a permanent basis stems from his outstanding performance during his loan spell. As negotiations continue, both clubs are working to finalize the terms of this high-profile transfer.
