Galatasaray Pursues RC Lens’ Frankowski as Transfer Deadline Looms
Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray is intensifying efforts to acquire Polish defender Przemyslaw Frankowski from French club RC Lens. Despite the French transfer window having closed, Turkey’s remains open, presenting an opportunity for Galatasaray to bolster their defensive lineup.
The Istanbul-based club has already seen bids for other full-backs rejected, including approaches for Olympique Lyonnais players Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Clinton Mata. However, Lens’ different financial situation may make them more amenable to negotiations.
While an initial offer for the 29-year-old Frankowski was turned down, Galatasaray remains determined to secure the Polish international before their transfer deadline on Tuesday. Lens is reluctant to part with Frankowski, but the Turkish club’s persistence may yet lead to a deal.
As the clock ticks down, the possibility of an agreement still exists, though Lens will likely drive a hard bargain for their valued defender. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether Frankowski will swap Ligue 1 for the Turkish Süper Lig.
