Gennaro Gattuso has officially ended his tenure as head coach of HNK Hajduk Split by mutual agreement, concluding his time with the Croatian club after just one season. The former AC Milan, Napoli, Valencia, and Marseille manager guided the team to a third-place finish in Croatia`s top division, the SuperSport HNL.
During his brief stint, Gattuso oversaw 43 official matches, accumulating 20 wins, 14 draws, and 9 losses. His departure comes as a surprise, as he had already begun preparations for the upcoming season.
Potential Return to Italian Football
The 47-year-old Italian tactician`s departure also sees his entire coaching staff leave the club. Hajduk Split expressed gratitude for Gattuso`s contributions and wished him well in his future endeavors.
With this unexpected availability, Gattuso may now be considering a return to Italian football, either in Serie A or Serie B. Several clubs, including Fiorentina, Cagliari, Lecce, and newly-promoted Pisa, are currently in the market for new managers, potentially opening doors for Gattuso`s next career move.
