Gimenez Eager for Milan Move After Rejecting Forest Offer
Santiago Gimenez, the Mexican international striker, has expressed his enthusiasm for a potential move to AC Milan. The 23-year-old Feyenoord forward revealed that he declined an offer from Nottingham Forest last summer, hoping for a chance to join the Italian giants.
Gimenez disclosed that Feyenoord received a substantial bid from Nottingham Forest, but he chose to wait for other opportunities. “When Milan called, I thought ‘wow’,” he admitted, highlighting his interest in the Rossoneri.
Despite Milan’s interest, negotiations have been challenging. The Serie A club’s initial offer, reportedly around €30 million, fell short of Feyenoord’s €40 million valuation. The Dutch side remains reluctant to sell their star striker mid-season.
Gimenez has been in impressive form, netting 15 goals in 18 appearances this season. His Italian passport would not affect Milan’s non-EU player quota, making him an attractive prospect for the club.
As talks continue between the clubs, Gimenez remains hopeful for a move to San Siro. “I understand the club’s position, but I know other chances will come,” he stated, indicating his patience and determination to secure a transfer to Milan.
