Gimenez: Milan Disappointed After Draw with Feyenoord
AC Milan striker Santiago Gimenez expressed the team’s disappointment following their 1-1 draw against Feyenoord in the Champions League knockout stage. The result eliminated Milan from the competition.
Milan got off to a dream start, scoring within the first minute through Gimenez. However, the match took a turn when Theo Hernandez was sent off with two yellow cards. This galvanized Feyenoord, who began to apply pressure and eventually equalized.
“We’re very disappointed,” Gimenez told reporters after the match. “We started well and scored early. It seemed Feyenoord couldn’t threaten us, but in football everything can change in an instant. Now we must look forward, not back. We’ll work quietly to achieve our goals.”
When asked about Hernandez’s red card, Gimenez backed his teammate: “It happened to Theo today, but it could happen to anyone. He has our full support as a team. He always gives 100% and is one of the world’s best fullbacks.”
The draw sees Milan exit the Champions League, dealing a blow to their season ambitions. However, Gimenez’s comments suggest the team will regroup and refocus on their remaining objectives for the campaign.
