Former England international Gareth Barry has advised Jack Grealish to consider a move to Everton in order to rejuvenate his career. This recommendation comes as Grealish faces uncertainty at Manchester City and is linked with a potential transfer to Napoli.
Grealish, who has struggled to secure a regular place in Pep Guardiola`s squad, was notably absent from Manchester City`s Club World Cup roster earlier this summer. His recent vacation in the Amalfi Coast, near Naples, has fueled speculation about a possible move to Napoli`s Stadio Maradona.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, Grealish is a primary target for Napoli, although the Italian club is also considering other options such as Federico Chiesa and Raheem Sterling. However, Barry, who made a similar move from Manchester City to Everton over a decade ago, believes Grealish would benefit more from staying in the Premier League.
“If I were in Jack`s position, I`d want to prove the doubters wrong,” Barry stated. “People are starting to write him off a bit. He`ll be thinking about how regular football could help him regain his place in the England squad. That`s why I think Everton would be a good move for him.”
While Napoli has already secured six new signings this summer, including Dutch winger Noa Lang and Italian striker Lorenzo Lucca, Grealish`s future remains uncertain. The coming weeks will likely shed more light on whether the talented midfielder will seek a new challenge in Italy or aim to revive his career in the familiar territory of the English Premier League.
