On Friday, March 27, at 3:00 PM, the community of Riano will mark a significant milestone for its social fabric. The construction site for the “House of Knowledge and Volunteering” (Casa del Sapere e del Volontariato), located in Via Padre Giorgio da Riano, will be officially inaugurated. This ambitious project is set to become the pulsating heart of citizen participation and community engagement.
A Vision for Urban Renewal
This initiative is more than just a building project; it represents a fundamental component of a broader vision for the area. As stated by Mayor Luca Abbruzzetti, the project is integrated into the Integrated Urban Plans (PUI) of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital and is entirely funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) funds.
“It signifies a concrete step towards urban regeneration and the social and cultural growth of the territory,” emphasized the Mayor.
Facilities and Features
The House of Knowledge and Volunteering has been conceived as a multifunctional space designed to break down social barriers and foster inclusivity. The structure will host:
- Civic Theater: A modern venue dedicated to cultural events and performing arts.
- Association Headquarters: A dedicated area providing space for local volunteer organizations, aimed at strengthening the sense of community.
Distinguished Attendees
Pierluigi Sanna, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, will also be present at the event. His attendance underscores the project’s importance beyond the local municipality and highlights the synergy among various local entities.
The Municipal Administration invites all citizens to participate in this symbolic occasion, which marks the beginning of a transformative period for a key area of the town.
