Sevilla midfielder Nemanja Gudelj shared his opinion on the unawarded penalty in the La Liga match against Barcelona, which ended in a 1-4 defeat for Sevilla.
In the second half, the referee Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez did not award a penalty after Djibril Sow fell in Barcelona’s penalty area.
“After a questionable referee decision, they scored against us, and the score became 1-3. If we had scored, I think we could have achieved more. I don’t like to talk about referees. I saw Kounde push Sow with his hand, and he lost his balance. In my opinion, it’s a pretty obvious penalty,” said Gudelj.
“In the first half, we were very good. What happened in the second half is hard to explain. We relaxed a bit in the center, and Pedri made a pass for their second goal,” Gudelj told Marca.
After this match, Barcelona is in third place in the league table with 48 points, 2 points behind the leading Real Madrid and one point behind second-placed Atletico. Sevilla is in 13th place with 28 points.
