OGC Nice forward Evann Guessand, aged 23, suffered an ankle injury in the recent 1-1 draw against Toulouse FC. However, the club is not overly concerned about the severity of the injury.
Guessand has been an important player for Nice throughout this season, especially as the main striker while Terem Moffi recovers from a pre-season ACL injury. The Ivorian player has effectively filled Moffi’s role, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists across 29 appearances in all competitions.
Concerns arose on Sunday when Guessand had to be substituted in the 67th minute against Toulouse due to the ankle issue. Despite this, Nice manager Franck Haise downplayed the injury in the post-match press conference. Haise acknowledged that Guessand’s ankle had a slight movement, but reassured that the striker is doing well. It is anticipated that Guessand will be able to return to play either for the Coupe de France match on Wednesday or in the league game against RC Lens at the weekend.
