Hull City Secures Signing of Eliot Matazo from AS Monaco
Hull City Football Club has officially announced the acquisition of Belgian midfielder Eliot Matazo from AS Monaco. The 22-year-old talent has committed to a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Tigers, with the club retaining an option for an additional year.
Reports suggest that Hull City agreed to a €2 million transfer fee with AS Monaco for the Belgium youth international. Matazo, who had been struggling to secure regular playing time at Monaco, made only two starts and seven total appearances across all competitions this season, despite the club’s involvement in multiple tournaments.
The young midfielder was noticeably absent from AS Monaco’s recent training session as the transfer to Hull City entered its final stages. Although FC Nantes had shown interest in signing Matazo, the English club ultimately secured his services.
Upon joining Hull City, Matazo expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m thrilled to be here and eager to begin this new chapter in my career. The transfer process was swift. Hull City approached my agent, and I quickly had productive discussions with the manager, sporting director, and president. The positive atmosphere made it an easy decision to join the club.”
This signing represents a significant acquisition for Hull City as they aim to strengthen their squad and compete in the EFL Championship.
